A Millennium Stage performance in Washington, D.C.

On April 17th, 2026, About Escher, for violin and marimba by composer Mario Carro, was performed at the iconic Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as part of the renowned Millennium Stage series.

The performance was given by distinguished soloists from the National Symphony Orchestra: Benjamin Scott (violin) and Scott Christian (marimba), whose artistry and sensitivity brought the work vividly to life in this unique setting.

The concert featured a diverse chamber music program including works by Mario Carro, Elena Kats-Chernin, Astor Piazzolla, Georg Friedrich Fuchs, and Kevin Puts, highlighting a wide range of contemporary and classical voices.

This occasion was particularly significant not only because of the historic venue, but also due to the accessibility of the Millennium Stage series, which allows audiences to experience performances both in person and through a live online broadcast. The concert was streamed worldwide and remains available to watch on YouTube, extending its reach far beyond the concert hall.

The composer expresses his sincere appreciation to the performers and to the National Symphony Orchestra for including About Escher in this program, and for their commitment to sharing new music with such a broad and engaged audience.
