Dúo Volante performs music by Mario Carro in Maastricht and Heythuysen
In the coming days, Mario Carro’s work Haiku del aire for alto flute and guitar will be performed in two concerts in the Netherlands by Dúo Volante, featuring flutist Beate Matvejeva and guitarist Alejandro Balfagón.
The program brings together a diverse selection of repertoire for flute and guitar, including Romanian Folk Dances by Béla Bartók, Histoire du Tango by Astor Piazzolla, and works by Robert Beaser and Allan Thomas, alongside Carro’s piece.
The first concert will take place on March 14, 2026 in Maastricht at Kapel Opveld, followed by a second performance on March 15, 2026 at Cultuurpodium De Bombardon in Heythuysen.
These performances mark another international appearance of Haiku del aire, presented by Dúo Volante in two venues in the Netherlands.
