Mario Carro’s chamber work will be featured in Pablo Navarro Díaz’s Master’s Recital in Maastricht.

Mario Carro’s Dance Me for marimba and string quartet will receive its Dutch premiere on 29 June at 12:30 PM at the Willem Hijstek Hall, Conservatorium Maastricht (The Netherlands).

The performance will take place as part of the Master’s Recital of percussionist Pablo Navarro Díaz, who will be joined by Sara Manaresi and Hannah Tuulas (violins), Samia Moussavi (viola), and Federica Di Gioia (cello).

Originally written for marimba and string quartet, Dance Me continues to gain visibility among a new generation of performers and is increasingly finding its place within the contemporary percussion repertoire. Its inclusion in a Master’s Recital reflects the growing interest the work has attracted in higher music education and concert programming.

Alongside Carro’s work, the programme includes music by Manuel de Falla, Polo Vallejo, Peter Sadlo, Askell Masson, and Joan Castelló.

The recital brings together a rich and varied repertoire, showcasing the versatility of the marimba in both solo and chamber music settings.
